Holiday Podcasts to Jolly your Spirit!

‘Tis the season for spreading holiday cheer to all who are near! I personally love holidays and not just this one. Any holiday I can celebrate, let’s do it. But sometimes, especially when the holidays are coming it can be hard to get in the Christmas Spirit especially when there are a lot of factors that could be impacting that. Now, I know not everyone loves celebrating and some downright hate it.

However, you lean I hope you enjoy this list of holiday podcasts to help give some jolly to your spirit. No matter what, we are thinking of you during these times good and bad. And hope you have a wonderful rest of December.

Deck the Hallmark

Where to listen? Apple and Spotify

Where to follow? Instagram or website

My favorite episode so far: Ranking Every 2022 Hallmark Movie…so far Part 2!

The Show’s Description: “Join Bran, Panda, and Dan (AND FRIENDS!) as they attempt to watch and review made-for-tv movies. Just 3 dudes…watching made-for-tv movies. What could go wrong?”

These 3 are a great start to our holiday podcasts list. They are fun and very enjoyable to listen to. Of course, the episodes are packed full of silliness, Christmas fun, and chats about the Hallmark Channel. If you are a holiday movie lover, but more specifically a Hallmark fein, then this is a great show for you! They do a great job explaining the movies (both the good, bad, and the dumpster fires!) plus the hidden gems that will make you want to listen in (or even make sure to skip). If you need a boost of Christmas cheer having some Hallmark movie discussions with great friends will certainly get you there!

Tinseltown - The Holiday Movie Podcast

Where to listen? Apple and Spotify

My favorite episode so far: Holiday Road (Christmas Vacation)

The Show’s Description: “The only podcast where the Mayor of Christmas will watch and review every Christmas, Thanksgiving, New Year, and otherwise midwinter holiday film to firmly establish the new holiday canon.”

This is another holiday movie podcast but it doesn’t just focus on the Hallmark side, they take a look at many different Christmas movies from National Lampoon’s Christmas Vacation to He-Man and She-Ra: A Christmas Special there is a little bit of something out there for everyone. This is surely a great way to jolly up your spirit for the holidays. They do a great job giving you a backstory and settings about what the films are about to get a sense of where they are going (or even how uneven they may be like National Lampoon’s Christmas). It’s a funny and heartwarming podcast to give you a sense of the best and even the worst of wintertime movies. Definitely check it out if you want a host that is knowledgeable on the topic and bring on excellent guests!

Christmas 365

Where to listen? Apple and Spotify

My favorite episode so far: Kiss Kiss Bang Bang

The Show’s Description: “Dylan Lyles and Matt Kelly are long-time friends and big-time Christmas Nerds. Despite knowing each other from the Horror world the two ADORE everything Christmas. Join them and a revolving door of guests as they go in-depth with your favorite Christmas Specials, movies, songs, albums, and just overall seasonal vibes.”

This is certainly a Holly Jolly podcast to help inspire your Christmas spirit. They cover all sorts of Christmas topics from Christmas in August to Ren & Stimpy: Stimpy’s First Fart (Christmas special) you are sure to find something that will bring out your cheer no matter what time of year it is. They chat and help give backstory, the details give their feelings on it and just chat about everything in between. Grab a big glass of eggnog while you enjoy these Christmas-loving dudes.

Unorthodox

Where to listen? AppleSpotify, and Tablet Mag

Where to follow? Instagram

My favorite episode so far: Hanukkah 2.0: Episode 296 or Jews on Christmas: Episode 299

The Show’s Description: “Unorthodox is the world’s leading Jewish podcast – but you don’t have to be Jewish to love it! Hosted by Mark Oppenheimer, Stephanie Butnick, and Liel Leibovitz of Tablet Magazine, each episode we bring you interesting guests, News of the Jews, and so much more.”

Now, I wanted to include something for those of you who may not celebrate Christmas and celebrate another holiday like Hannukah! You will still want to get into the spirit. Unorthodox is a great podcast for both those who are and aren’t Jewish. They have different guests, chats on different topics that may be confusing for some, and even talk about modern news that’s happening. Now of course not all of their episodes are related to the holidays, they do many different Jewish topics from traditions to modern chats. The hosts are lively and very insightful. They do a great job expressing their opinions as well as in discourse. A great way to learn more whether you are Jewish or not.

Advent Calendar House - TV Holiday & Christmas Specials

Where to listen? AppleSpotify, and Podbean

Where to follow? Instagram and X (formerly Twitter)

My favorite episode so far: Santa Claus is Comin’ to Town

The Show’s Description: “A salute to all TV holiday specials, but mostly the Christmas ones. Revisit 12-holiday classics and not-so-classics each December and July.”

Our final podcast on our holiday podcasts list is one that is last but not least. This is a great podcast for some nostalgia and information on some great TV holiday/Christmas specials. A lot of these, especially for myself, are still some of my favorite movies and specials to watch to this day (like Santa Claus is Comin’ to Town – there is just something unique about those claymation-like films). Mike, the host, is hilarious and very knowledgeable and has great fun with all of his guests. There are so many Christmas gems that he looks at, that if you haven’t seen them yet, after these episodes you will want to. With small clips from the classics as well as great chats about them, will surely get you into the holly jolly spirit.

Conclusion

With that, I hope these holiday podcasts have you feeling ready for the holiday season. Whether you are into the holidays, or whatever holiday you celebrate, cheers to you as you head into the new year!
