11 Women-Hosted Podcasts to Listen to

According to Podnews, "Over 1 in 3 U.S. Women 18+ (35%) have listened to a podcast in the past month. This is up 67% over the past 5 years and now represents an estimated 47 million women". There has been and continues to be incredible growth for women in podcasting. Not just as listeners but as hosts and on the production side as well. So, with International Women's Day right around the corner, we think it's worth celebrating all the amazing women in this industry. Of course, there is a lot so this is not an exhaustive list by any means. I will be sharing some of our favorite women-hosted podcasts that we listen to on a regular basis.

Aim4u Ladies: Empowering Women to Live Their Best Life

The first up on the women-hosted podcasts list is Aim4u Ladies. Which has just celebrated its one-year anniversary and is hosted by the lovely, Sophia Tuckett. The show aims to improve your self-esteem, heal from infidelity, or just take control of your life and mind. During the show, she focuses on gratitude, mindset, personal growth, and AIMing for an improved standard of life. From her own life experience as a Leader, Confidence Coach, Mother, and Spiritual Being, she has created this safe space to feel powerfully encouraged while embracing self-acceptance and rising above life’s challenges – “Who Is The Woman You Want To Become?”.

A couple of episodes I love are “Damaging Habits in Relationships” and “How to Do Hard Things with Raina Hassan”. Both have great advice and actionable steps that you can put into play on the different topics. But all episodes bring something new to the table to help you feel safe and empowered while you take back control of different areas in your life.

The Brittnee Smith Podcast

Another fantastic host is Brittnee Smith. Her show is dedicated to the busy, working woman who wants to build profitable businesses and brands while wearing multiple hats and living their best lives. So often we are overwhelmed with trying to run a business and run a household that we get lost in the process. She has amazing guests who chat about everything from branding and business systems to setting boundaries and using time blocking to win at productivity while running a real business. Here’s to building your empire!

One of my favorite episodes is from season 4, episode 1: “Zig Zag: The Secret to Authentic, Six-Figure Success”.  This isn’t the only episode where she has great business advice that will help you on your journey as an entrepreneur and business owner but it’s a great one if you want to define your brand in a way that reflects who you are and what you want to be known for. I am never disappointed when listening to Brittnee!

Friend Forward

Next up on the list of women-hosted podcasts is a show that has quick episodes (all under 30 minutes) but is jam-packed with helpful tips, information, and action steps. It’s a show for modern women looking to understand the complexities of female friendship. Hosted by wonderful, Danielle Bayard Jackson, a female friendship coach and educator. This podcast provides research, strategies, and tough-love truth to answer your questions about how to navigate relationships with other women. It comes out weekly providing new insights about how to create and maintain better female friendships.

I LOVED one of the more recent episodes of “Three times when you SHOULDN’T apologize to a Friend.” She does a great job explaining different situations and giving you resolutions on if you are experiencing or that friend may be apologizing wrong (even if unintentionally). Great episode to make you think about how you have been apologizing recently to those around you. Danielle is so kind and filled with great advice even on these tough-love questions.

Happiness Happens Podcast

This is a fabulous show hosted by an even more fabulous person, Simona who is also a podcast producer based out of Canada. We’ve connected on social media in the past and she is a really sweet and down-to-earth person. She does host another podcast As It Relates to Podcasting, if you want to know more about podcasting, I would highly recommend it. But I’m focusing right now on Happiness Happens as it’s also a great show based on cultivating a positive mind for a positive, more meaningful life. As the end of the description says, “We decide the stories we tell ourselves and where we choose to invest our energy.”

Check out “Are you waiting for the other shoe to Drop?” and “Sex, Drugs, Radical Self Expression with Barry Magliarditi”. Both are great starting points for listening, whether you are building an authentic life, trying to understand your feelings, or just trying to pull out of rock bottom, you will be able to find motivation and relatability in these episodes. It’s time to peel back some layers and take a listen!

How to Be Human

This show is an interesting guide to exploring the common and often confusing themes of humanness including spirituality, connection, wellness, self-acceptance, and more. It’s currently hosted by the splendid, Anna Toonk. She uses humor, honesty, and intuition to discuss the unanswerable questions we may have. She searches for clarity in the most human way possible; together.

One of my favorite episodes is “Hope and Purpose” back when Nina was still co-hosting the show. The idea of life purpose and how to look within is something I think most of struggle to grapple with and want to figure out. This is a great conversation around hope and not getting bogged down in negativity. They give you a lot to think about and a great episode to tune into.

Lovers and Friends

If you are looking for a show that is having fun and interesting conversations around sex and intimacy, this is a great place to start. The host, Shan Boodram, an intimacy expert and sexologist takes a deep dive into anything and everything about sex, relationships, and the science of attachment every week with expert guests and friends who will tell all.

Some really interesting episodes are “Did You Hear She Has Herpes?” and “Go to Therapy or We’re Over ft. David So”. This show helps bring up stigmatizing and misunderstood topics and has discussions to help break down the facts and information behind them. Shan does a great job asking questions and making you feel comfortable (even on some potentially uncomfortable topics) while learning new things you may not have known when it comes to sex and intimacy.

Mary’s Cup of Tea Podcast: the Self-Love Podcast for Women

A great podcast for self-love for women. The host, Mary Jelkovsky covers topics surrounding self-love including body-image, confidence, self-worth, body positivity, mindset, mental health, feminism, relationships, and so much more. Along the way, she shares parts of her personal life, never shying away from the messy, raw, and real conversations that we all crave.

She has so many great episodes that you should take a listen to but one of my more recent favorites is “Motivating Yourself with Compassion”. Self-love is a hard feat to tackle but Mary’s episodes help make it feel a lot easier. Like this one,  she gives practical tools for finding and creating motivation for self-love. These episodes feel like a hug from a friend.

The Messy Mom Podcast

Next up is the Messy Mom Podcast by Fit Mama In 30 hosted by 2 incredible women, Bailey and Cari Oschman. The idea behind the show is to ditch the idea of perfection during motherhood and embrace the messy. The topics range from pre and postnatal health, infertility, mom guilt, and the craziness that comes with raising a family. Get laughs and valuable information in a short time (most episodes are 30 minutes and under).

Some of my favorite episodes as of late are “Coffee Chats: Trends for 2023, Popular Baby Names + Dad Jokes” and “Postpartum Intimacy with Dr. Emma Schmidt” These are wildly different episodes and that is what is so great about this show. They have knowledgable chats where you can learn more about motherhood and postpartum while also having fun, let free episodes where you don’t have to be too focused to be listening, and get some good laughs in. Whatever it is, they are embracing the messy.

Rise with Amy Radunz

In 2022, I loved tuning into Rise to hear Amy and her guests chat about all the things. There hasn’t been a recent episode lately but she still has a great backlog of episodes worth checking out. The show’s aim is to rise above your fears, and your challenges - above the unexpected in life and in business. You gather from leaders and everyday people in the episodes the tools and resources, so you are able to lead a life of abundance, flow, and harmony.

One episode I really enjoyed was “Finding Self Worth – with Jessica Louise” all about self-worth specifically for mamas and women in business. For many of us, we are grappling with how to reclaim our confidence and align with our true selves. Listen in to the discussion on those questions and more about what’s connected to our worth.

Somos Visionaries

Here is another incredible show with even better hosts. Belen and Rocio’s goal for this podcast is to promote empowerment for Latinas who feel stuck and want to elevate their lives. They host authentic conversations with brave Latinas who are choosing cambio over comfort. It’s a sin miedo community of Latinas where they aim to empower, nurture, and love themselves in the season they’re in. They strongly believe that women can pursue their purpose without society’s cultural concept of who they should be. Regardless of where you find yourself in life, this show pushes you to look at the nontraditional ways of finding and pursuing your proposito.

All their episodes so far are fantastic but Episode 5 currently has my heart, “Building Community with Latina Graphic Designer Ruby Herrera”. They get down learning more about becoming a graphic designer and tips on networking especially if you are a new business owner. This show is definitely worth checking out if you want to empower and love yourself whatever the season you are in.

Voices for Justice

The last podcast on our women-hosted podcasts is Voices for Justice. This is hands down one of my favorite true crime podcasts out there because of the knowledge and expertise she brings. But even more so because of her compassion and heart. She is an advocate who can’t advocate for themselves no matter their stories. The host, Sarah Turney, ends with a call to action. Please don’t just listen to their stories, be a voice for them like she is.

Any episodes about her sister’s story are always good to listen to but hard to hear. But this is one I don’t have favorites for as any of the episodes are outstanding and worth tuning into as all of their stories do deserve to be heard and action be taken.
