Must-Listen Health + Wellness Podcasts for Women

Taking care of our businesses and podcasts is important. But we also need to take care of ourselves. As women, we tend to put other people’s needs above our own, whether that be our kids, pets, partners, or other friends and family members. Of course, all of that is still important but taking care of our own well-being is important too. As they say, filling up our cups will help us fill up others. We can’t fill others with an empty cup! So, today let’s jump in as I cover some of our favorite health + wellness podcasts for women.

Courageous Wellness

To start my list of must-listen health and wellness podcasts is the Courageous Wellness Podcast. It’s hosted by Aly French and Erica Stein who are both certified Integrative Nutrition Health Coaches with advanced training in gut health and hormone health. The show itself is about de-stigmatizing conversations in the wellness space and celebrating the experiences/lessons of their guests. They interview diverse people about their personal journeys in health and wellness. From physical wellness, to emotional and spiritual, they are listening to courageous stories.

What we like about is it’s extremely relatable and always has great tips or advice on all the different topics they cover.

Whether you are on a self-love journey, trying to find your worth or something entirely else, this is a great place to start to feel less alone and get some valuable insights from it.

If you are looking to start listening today, I suggest starting with their episode with Maya Howard on discussing life transitions, finding your light again, and showing up for your dreams. This was a great conversation around surrendering and how emotions can come in waves.

Holistic Women's Health

Up next is Holistic Women’s Health which is hosted by the lovely Alex Adele King, Certified Nutritionist and Holistic Women’s Health Expert and the show is about exactly all things women’s holistic health. The topics covered relate to nutrition, women’s health, hormones, self-development and personal growth. The podcast’s goal is. to help guide you on your journey to balancing your hormones, loving your menstruation, cycle syncing, and living your best life.

Alex is wonderful at hosting. She has so much knowledge and you can feel her passion for what she does. We love that it’s a show that helps make topics that can be very overwhelming on their own to become easy and digestible. You will become inspired and learn a lot about women’s health when tuning into this podcast.

If this sounds right up your alley, then I would suggest starting with episode 101 with Krishna Avalon. They discuss unlocking your hidden potential & breaking through your limiting beliefs. This is something that I personally have struggled with and found this episode to be insightful and have great tidbits on how to work through these beliefs.

The Messy Mom Podcast

Another must-listen health + wellness podcast for women is The Messy Mom Podcast By Fit Mama in 30 which is hosted by the wonderful, Bailey + Cari Oschman. The show is all about ditching the idea of perfection during motherhood and embracing the messy. The topics on the show range from pre and postnatal health, infertility, mom guilt, and the craziness that comes with raising a family.

There are a few things that we really love about this show but the first is that it’s quick (most episodes are around 30 minutes) so if you are a busy mama looking to get in some knowledge or some entertaining content in bursts, this is a great show to start with. These women do a great job of keeping the content real, raw, and messy to help us all work on embracing the mess together.

By listening to this show you are gaining a community of mamas that can help you on your fitness journey as well as support you through all the mess that comes with motherhood. We shouldn’t have to walk this path alone! So, by tuning in you will sure either learn something or get your boost of serotonin for the day.

Are you ready to add this to your playlist now? If the answer is yes, I recommend starting with their episode with Dr. Emma Schmidt a sex therapist and clinical sexologist to discuss postpartum intimacy. This is a health + wellness topic that isn’t talked about much but is something that a lot of women deal with. So, even if you or someone you know isn’t struggling with this, it’s still a great episode to listen to to learn a little more about the struggles and how to deal with them.

Peace. Love. Hormones.

Following up after that is Peace. Love. Hormones hosted by Maddie Miles (IG @themaddiemiles). The show is about uncovering why your health may be struggling due to imbalances within the body, mainly hormonal imbalances.  It was created for both females and males who are looking to optimize their health through an integrative approach to overall wellness.

We love this podcast because it takes a different look at our health from different perspectives. Maddie is a wonderful host and creator who is full of passion and knowledge for herbalism and hormone health which shines through as she connects with her guests and talks on these subjects.

Listening to this podcast will help educate and inspire you to take control of your health and heal your body the natural way.

For this podcast, if you are just getting started with it or even on these topics, I suggest starting with episode 48 on Moon cycles. It’s a great starting point to understand more about your menstrual cycle and how it is connected to the moon cycles. She explains all the cycles: red, white, purple, and pink moon cycles plus the significance behind them.

Mary’s Cup of Tea

Up on my list next is Mary’s Cup of Tea by Mary Jelkovsky (@maryscupofteaa). The show all about self-love. It’s filled with honest and heartfelt conversations about body-image, confidence, self-worth, body positivity, mindset, mental health, feminism, relationships, and all things self-love. She also lets you in on her personal life, never shying away from the messy, raw, and real conversations that we all crave. She wants to help people accept their bodies and learn to love themselves unconditionally.
We love this podcast because we all need self-love. It can be hard to love ourselves especially when we feel we aren’t worthy. This podcast is an incredible encouragement and inspiration for the things we may be struggling with especially body image and body positivity. We all need some light when the world can be so dark. Plus, Mary herself is warm, passionate, puts words together beautifully, and is easy to listen to.

Listening to Mary’s Cup of Tea will bring you comfort and healing to help you learn to love yourself a little more every episode.

If this sounds like your kind of podcast, I recommend listening to episode 137 about motivating yourself with compassion. It’s heartfelt, relatable, and with great advice if this is something you personally deal with. We are always the first ones to critique ourselves the hardest but what if you took the different approach? It may be surprised on how big of a difference this can make.

No Such Thing as TMI

The show is exactly what the title says – no such thing as TMI, it’s a place where the host Dr. Sabrina Baxter (a physical therapist who specializes in pelvic health) helps you navigate life together. She is a breath of fresh air bringing education and fun to topics that many of us have questions about but tend to avoid asking or discussing with anyone.

And that’s exactly why we love this podcast. It’s already hard enough navigating women’s health and we need more people like Sabrina to help break down the stigmas and barriers around health + wellness.

When you tune into No Such Thing as TMI you are getting fun and educational conversations that you will both learn from and may even improve your way of living.

If this also sounds like a show that should be added to your playlist, I suggest starting with episode 4 about all things Pelvic Floor. Not only does it rhyme but it’s what Dr. Sabrina specializes in so you can’t go wrong beginning here. This episode is going to be going into all things pelvic floor such as bladder health, bowel health, sexual health, and vaginal + period health – it’s all about prioritizing your pelvic health!

Heal Nourish Grow

Last on our list is Heal Nourish Grow hosted by Cheryl McColgan, a podcast that shares interviews with people who have been living a low-carb life while experiencing improved health and weight loss. It mainly focuses on guests who have had health problems or history that led them to eat lower carb than the standard American diet. If you are curious about why what you eat matters and how your food choices can affect your body and mind, this is a great starting point.

And that’s why we really enjoy this show, not only does it share personal experiences and success stories but it also shares knowledge from experts as well as health and wellness-related information including practical tips and tricks to help develop new healthy habits and accomplish your goals.

If this sounds like another show you’d want to add to your playlist, I suggest starting with the episode on Nutrition, Movement, and Consistency for Weight Loss with Dr. Jessie Hehmeyer. Where they discuss the importance of finding one's why when it comes to weight loss and share tips for taking action and making sustainable changes.

With that, we hope you add at least one of these podcasts to your current playlist to help take care of your own personal health + wellness. We offered shows that provided a little bit of everything when it comes to health and wellness podcasts for women.

Let me know if you take a listen to any or if there are some additional health + wellness podcasts I should add to my own listening list!

And I leave you with…
